About
Impact partnered with Morgan Advanced Materials to design and facilitate three unique 14–24-month leadership development journeys for three different groups: senior leaders, middle managers and graduates.
The programmes were successfully translated into fully virtual delivery due to Covid-19, pushing the boundaries of experiential, synchronous virtual learning.
The leadership journeys aimed to empower and accelerate participants' leadership abilities, equipping them with the skills to manage change in a volatile and uncertain business environment. Specifically, the journeys had four objectives:
- Direction
- Global network
- Change
- Invest in people
The solutions combined landmark face-to-face modules, powerful virtual experiences, strategic business challenges, self-led online learning, podcasting, peer coaching, mentoring and mobile-first learning technology.
The virtual aspects of the programmes incorporated Impact’s digital learning app, air. They spanned multiple time zones and days and generated highly successful results, as well as creating pioneering virtual methodologies.
Participants left the programmes feeling more confident and skilled to lead change. Participant surveys demonstrated step improvement in: alignment with Morgan’s purpose and strategy, development of a global network, ability to drive and manage change, and feeling motivated and valued.
The programmes won a silver Learning Technologies Award in November 2020. The judges were impressed by "the innovative use of a rich variety of learning technologies leveraged through an innovative learning app in order to support for example, self-learning, social learning and user generated content – resulting in highly engaged participants able to transfer learning and confidence into positive business outcomes. The use of experiential, challenge-led methodologies and the continual focus on sustainability goals and the SDGs creates an exceptionally forward thinking and effective framework to embed learning and tackle real challenges simultaneously in this blended pathway. Overall – very impressive!"
